Don Lopp call (Tony please read)

Hi all,

Don phoned me again last night. His
primary reason was because he has been
corresponding with a fellow in England
who is looking for more people to correspond/
slide share with.

Don knows about Tony from the phone list
Stephen send him, and so wanted permission
to give it out to this other fellow. I
said it should be okay. Hope that's alright
Tony.

Don said this fellow has built a stereo
camera fusing two Lubitel TLRs bottom to
bottom and building his own back. The odd
thing is that the cameras are labelled
Lomo and according to Don the lenses are
super sharp. Even in the corners.

We discussed how Lubi's have the same
lens and shutter assembly as Sputniks and
thus this was impossible (super sharpness).
Don says he has seen 7 or 8 sputniks and only
3 of them were decently sharp. Mine, one in Alaska
and another one (can't remember where).

Does anyone know about these Lomo TLRs?
Are they just re-labelled Lubitels or are
they different, with better lenses?

Tony, if you talk to this guy, find
out about these cameras and let us know.

Don also mentioned that due to his
foggy head (still on med's I guess) he
managed to keep one of the folio slides
(Sam's viewer). We got distracted by
something else and never discussed what
to do with it. The best is probably if
he puts it back in next folio and lets
it complete the journey.

We also talked about viewer lenses. Sounds
like Don is always on the lookout for more.
