.wav shutter tester

This is in reference to the post re building a shutter tester using a
computer soundcard and .wav software, plus a simple light detecting
circuit... 

Well, Radar Electric in Seattle, which has all sorts of oddball parts, has
no BPW40 phototransistors, and has no references to one. So if building
the shutter tester depends upon this specific part, we have a problem,
because no one has them that I can find.

Anyone out there have an idea for a substitute component?
