Thanks all for the info on 124Gs. Someone is offering me one for $150.
Here's his description:

Regarding batteries: I bought an adapter for my Gossen light meter that
I think replaced a 625. It's a plastic cup, the size of the old cell,
that takes two 76 cells. I suppose it has a diode inside. Cost $20, but
does the job neatly and hassle-free. I bought it at a local camera
store, but it may be available from B&H for <$. It's a Gossen item.
