Allignment of "unintentional 3D" images

I have some aerial images which are what I call "unintentional or serendipity
3D." They were taken by a hand held camera looking out the window at the same
subject with a time interval between shots. Some pairs seem to align very
nicely as the camera was held in almost the exact orientation. Others need to
be turned off the square to get the alignment. If the latter are to be used
they will have to be aligned and cropped.

I wonder whether any one has dealt with "non intentional" stereo before?

It might be easier to deal with them digitally and wonder if any of you have
any experience with that?

I've been doing the checking and identifying the 3D by putting two prospective
slides side by side on the light table and putting a loupe over each one and
finding / getting stereo that way. Some are immediately fantastic - others
require, as mentioned before, a little twisting or turning to find the match.
But some of the latter I seem to get some stereo but can’t tell if they align
everywhere.

I don't know too much about this but it may be that a few of them might need
rubber sheeting to make everything fall into place - or maybe some of them
won’t work at all - but again - this area is a little (well actually a lot)
out of my sphere.

Any ideas or thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks.
