"Cheaper by the Dozen"

My wife is watching said film on AMC while doing reports.  Not 
a film I've seen.  I walked by and saw a man looking into an 
interesting stereoscope.  There were two strips of film 
approximately MF width, joined by a strip between them of perhaps 
cloth or paper.  The man was turning a crank which made this 
three-strip strip unroll from one roll and roll onto another roll.  
In between the rolls was what looked like the hood of a Holmes 
stereoscope.  Seemed like a neat idea and it's easy to imagine a 
camera to take these pairs.
