Apparently, harder than you think...  I usually freeview
to tell which one is the right and which one is the left.
I can pick pseudo very easily, thanks to many years of
training.

Without freeviewing, here is another way to tell:

"The background moves with you"

So, you put what you think is the left chip in the left
side and the right chip in the right side.  You look
at the background w/respect to the foreground.  As you
go from the left to the right picture, the background
should move in the same direction (left to right).
If that's not the case then you must reverse the chips.

That's really not that critical, especially if the only
reason you want this is to be able to identify the right
and left images.
