Because Sputniks are TLRs not SLRs we are
dependant on guesstimates of depth of field
for focus.

Has anyone set the focus at, say, 2 meters
(measured exactly) with the aperature wide
open and then checked for focus at infinity
and see if the distance scale and camera focus
tracked accurately?

Every camera (with focus) I can remember has
infinity at the end of travel.  In that case, the
manufacturers must have set set focus at
infinity.  The most critical focus would be with
the aperatures completely open.

My two-cents worth.
