The jaspar bar which I own, 24" is very ideal for this.  The bar has tripod
adapters on each end of the bar, as well as the middle.  If using two
cameras, one tripod in the middle is fine, the cameras balance each other
out.  However, using one camera tilts the bar a bit due to the weight only
being on one side.  I have tried this with 4x5 cameras and I highly
recommend two tripods, or one tripod and one monopod...
