I am also interested in camera hacking, but I find I have less and
less time to do so.  I still haven't finished the light box for my
SaturnSlide viewer (I'm pretty sure I bought while Joel still owned
RMM), and I've only just started fiddling with the Saturn Fixup Kit.

At some point I'd like to build a MF stereo camera.  I like the idea
of using two sets of Mamiya TLR 80mm lenses, but I figure that the
mechanics of the rest of the camera would be a bit above my current
limits (time and skill).  Maybe I'll finally start on the MF stereo
pinhole camera I've been thinking about.
