[MF3D.FORUM:1574] Albert Brooks

Today's mail brought the April issue of Total Movie, a magazine I do not
recommend, but which is always bundled with a DVD, which I do recommend to
those who like to view current or recent trailers, plus stuff about new
DVD's. Anyway, the DVD has the Albert Brooks Real Life (1979) trailer that
appears to be in 3d (I assume it will be on the DVD of the film). Not
having color 3d glasses lying around, I cannot say whether it is true 3d; it
is certainly presented in a satirical manner, so it could be actual 3d or
not, given Brooks' notorious whimsicality. Notably, Brooks brings on a man
who hits the little balls on the rubber bands with the paddles (one in each
hand). Notable, because I saw House of Wax (1953) almost half a century
ago, and the only thing I remember is a barker in front of the House of Wax
hitting those little balls toward the audience. Brooks, a lover of show
biz, would know that film and be inspired by that. Peter Lushing
