I'm Bob Aldridge, the projectionist / Technical Manager for the Stereoscopic
Society (the real one, not the "of America" offspring! :-) ).

I've been shooting stereo since 1973 when I bought a Wray Stereo Graphic and
viewer for 25 GBP...

When that died, I got a Realist, then a Belplasca.

I really only got into MF about 4 years ago when a colleague on the
Stereoscopic Society Committee unearthed a second Hassleblad 80mm standard
lens to go with my two bodies, one 80mm, one 50mm and one 40mm lenses. I
mounted the two bodies together on a bar with a "press the two buttons
together"! synchronising system... That's the rig that I had at NSA Richmond.

This rig was a bit unwieldy, so I got a Sputnik which I used for a while
(after I had set the focus to my satisfaction...) . The results were
surprisingly good. I would challenge people to tell me if it was a Hassy or a
Sputnik shot. Invariably the Spud shots were ascribed to the Hassy!

But the Sputnik isn't an easy camera to use. So I bought a Rolleidoscop.
Which is now my preferred MF camera...

And that's where I am with MF stereo.

But most of my stereo recently has been with a single Nikon body.

On my film recorder :-) been astonished at the quality that I can achieve (on
35mm, admittedly) by scanning at 4000 DPI and cleaning up before printing out
to film. I've just been marvelling at some ViewMaster reels that I've made
from Pat Whitehouse originals.

Talk about chalk and cheese - froma Rolleidoscop to ViewMaster in four short
paragraphs :-) :-) :-)
