FW: How do I get a wide angle lens on a digital camera

Oh oh....Robert opened can-o-worms here....(but I'm not a professional
photographer, so I guess it's ok ;-) ). 

I do use and appreciate wide angle lenses. I like the environment-immersion
nature of panoramas - but without an extreme aspect ratio. The vertical
dimension can be important too!
