I think what he means by ordinary is consumer film.  That term doesn't
confuse me...  It is what an ordinary person would use.

If you haven't already, check out Velvia.  It is a beautiful slow chrome.
Considered by some to be the replacement of Kodachrome.  It is E6 process
and does not require the wasteful K14 process.  It has recently been
offered in motion picture stock.  Veeery nice... Especially for green
landscapes.
