The Nikon people told me that their 4x5 scanner only does up to 4x5, and not
-I asked about this- 6x17 (or longer).

So, it's really just a 4x5 scanner. When they say "panoramic strips", they
probably mean the shorter ones, like 6x12 or 35x72 (such as from the Mamiya
7).

Ever tried a scanner with an itnernal transaprency scanning bed, such as the
Microtek Scanmaker 4 or 5, or the Agfa Duoscan?

The Umax Powerlook 3000 is suppsoed to be very good, and very mucho dinero as
well.
