Re: copy-right infringement
Sue him in small claims court in your state, not his. Force him into
dealing with a legal situation in another state. No, you might not get any
money, but it is a hassle for him. In Utah, I understand you can attach
personal property in some way. If it is his car or house, he will not be
able to dispose of the property. I have a friend who has done this
occasionally, and it might take a few years until he has to deal with the
attachment, but then, you can work out some payment. In my friends case, it
was a small claim suit that the person did not respond to, so my friend was
able to attach his house. A few years later, the jerk could not get a loan
and he came a calling. They settled for the cost of the original bill plus
interest.
If you do this, the person will hate you, call you names, but he will not
mess around - at least with you.
Sneaky, but it will learn them a lesson.
