Scratching filmrails should appear over the entire length of the
film....try to save the leader after development, that might give
you an indication *where* exactly the scratching occurs....my guess
is at the very left edge, but I could be wrong.

There is one other specific problem that could cause some kind of
exposure outside the frame, right through the spacing:

A shutter not closing during cocking/film-transport.

The only remedy, apart from a new camera, is pointing the camera
into the shadow, and recock/transport as quickly as possible. Also
try to recock/transport in one motion, not several short
strokes....I have only seen this happen with a camera once, and I
believe it could only (or mostly) be triggered by these multiple
short strokes.

All this assuming we are not talking about any flare-related
problems, but those appear as vertical artifacts only....but if the
sun is on the edge of the frame, it might run over to the following
or preceeding image, and fog it on the edge too....yet given enough
intensity, even normal 35mm cameras show this 'next-frame-fogging'.
