FW: Negative/positive scanner

Am I to understand that one could conceivably digitize a single 169 mm x
~24mm image on 35mm film with this software and the HP PhotoSmart scanner?
This would be of help to images from  rotating lens cameras that can produce
negatives as long or longer than this.
