Anybody have experience converting 8 35mm reels to one 8" reel?

Hi Group -
I had this problem, too, when I switched to inversion agitation from rotary
a couple of years ago. I did a lot of testing until I found the very simple
culprit: pistoning of the reel inside the tank. I now have a variety of
plastic jar lids that I place inside the tank to take up the slop. Since I
have 5 or 6 tanks of varying capacity from 2 reel to 12 reel and I use a
variety of combinations of film size, I have a variety of sizes of lids.
