Hello All!

I've also had trouble using a reel with the thin base films. I even built
a reel with wide spacing between turns of the spiral, but was not able to
achieve satisfactory results.

You might try the method I use now, which was taught to me by some old
time Cirkut photographers:

It requires large plastic pans, like those that might be used for washing
dishes, that can hold about 2 gallons of chemicals. Don't try to skimp on
quantities. The film is scrolled while submerged in the solution.

You start with a water soak. Put the end of the film in the water,
keeping the feed roll dry, and roll it up under the water until the entire
length is in. Then start with the free end and re-roll it. Continue this
for the required time and then move to the next solution.

Developing time is close to that suggested for continuous agitation.
