Generally speaking, it seems that anyone who has a tripod, a long fast lens
like a 300 2.8, a medium format camera, or something to strange to fit the
categories (like a Roundshot!) is a 'professional'. I had a similar problem
in NYC when shooting with an RZ67 on a tripod in a public park.

I think France is a special case, anyway. If you have money, the government
wants it!
