Shooting at f8 caused a severe light unbalance as you said. Shooting
at f16 and f32 reduced it drastically. I photographed a gray card and
from it I created a center filter mask in Picture Publisher which does
a great job. I edit every negative I print anyway.
I have to make another lens mount change by adding another .2 mm
washer to get really sharp images, but I still haven't figured out how
to calibrate my focus chart without shooting a lot of film.
