All is about storage space. 
Super Disk is only 120Megs, not always enough for a 2400 dpi scan of a
long panorama.
CD is not so expensive anymore,  around a dollar a disk, holds 5 time as
much and you can keep it for archival purposes also.

Just about 2c of an opinion.
