I see what you are getting at, and of course you are making very valid
points.  Here in Orkney we get very varied light depending on season and
weather systems.  The main thing is that it is nearly always humid,
which tends to limit clarity quite a lot.  Often we hav wonderful soft
light, but sometimes we get such strong light that the colours seem
unreal.

When the wind is easterly we get polluion from UK and Europe which gives
the bottom of the sky a greeny-yellow cast which Velvia is really good
at picking up, while Kodachrome does not.  I personally find that Velvia
produces really good results in typical Scottish weather, while most
other films produce rather drab results.

Unfortunately Velvia will not run through my panoramic camera and 70mm
seems unavailable.  

It is nice to be back to photo talk on this network.
