Umax PowerLook III Scanner Users

Would any users of this scanner please send me website references for images
that you have scanned with this scanner. I'm interested in purchasing a new
scanner, I have an older Umax that I'm unhappy with and I want to see if the
new scanner improves the things that I feel are wrong with the scans I have

Has anyone compared the III with the 3000? I know the price is very different
but so are the specifictions 3200 optical dpi!

Has anyone compared the standard scanner/transparency adapter configruation
with a similarly spec'd scanner that uses a slide tray? I know in theory that
reducing the number of surfaces and materials you have to image through is a
good thing, but does it make a measurable difference in scanners at the
consumer level?
