though not a patented feature some tomiyamas can develope what i have long ago called whiplash focusing. looking at the top of your camera observe the tracking of the front standard which carries the lensboard. it does not always remain body parallel travelling forward and back. it it not an easy fix, but at least you can recognize the cause. simon nathan  alignment check is visual.
