I think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill.  Mini labs use roller
processors.  The temperature is no longer as sensitive as it once was, since
the 60's in fact.

The temperature is 100 degrees, easy out of any tap; and the time is like 3
minutes, normal with 15 seconds plus for every stop push.  Rarely do you
ever have to push color film though you can push up to 10 stops.

The Kreonite is a roller processor.

Keep the rollers clean?  No more difficult than keeping dust off a print.
Roller processing is a norm, and home style is easy.  Ask Bob Erickson, as
he does it in hotel rooms.
