For those interested in infrared filters, I have a thick (0.4mm)
polyester foil quality available for US$0.50 pro square centimeter
(Wratten #87C)....for heat resistent applications a thinner version,
#87 is available, same price (slightly less blocking, but still
enough to create broad daylight in your darkroom, without the film
seeing it).
As construction material I even have hard plastic available (4mm 
upwards).

Don't have up to date info about (binocular/head-mounted) goggles, 
but handheld monoculars can be had for US$200-300.
