I appreciate your reporting on the attacks by IPIX against other software
developers. I have followed this series of attacks against Dersch by IPIX
and have been using it as an example case of abuse in business for both
undergraduate and graduate college classes. I became aware of the problem as
it occured because I have made use of the Dersch software for about two
years. We should be very careful about protecting the small individual
"freeware" and "shareware" authors because they, like the creator or LINUX,
are the only real hope for intellectual growth and development in the one
technology area our Country hopes to continue expanding. From my view, up
here in "the Hills", IPIX is nothing more than a combined bully and
dog-in-the-manger. Computer and communications history is cluttered with the
tombstones of other efforts to "bundle". Thankfully IPIX does not currently
think they own license to either water or air or both or they would attack
