ANNOUNCE: The Panorama Factory

Hi,

I've lurked on this list for quite some time, so I should probably start
with a brief introduction. At work I am a software designer for a medical
technology company. For the last year or so, with whatever time is left
over after work and family obligations, I've been making stitched panoramas
from 35mm negative scans.

I started with one of the commercial stitching packages, but became
dissatisfied with it. So I have developed a new stitching application for
Windows 95/98/NT that I'm calling The Panorama Factory. At this point I'm
offering The Panorama Factory as free software, but I'm hoping you'll agree
that it is professional quality. To tell the truth, though, I haven't
thought too much further than this initial release.

The Panorama Factory is not the be-all and end-all, but it does address some
problems that I thought were important:

* Project file organization allows changing intermediate steps without
starting over.
* Accepts 45-bit per pixel images (15 bits each for RGB).
* Includes a convenient and intuitive color correction tool.
* Includes manual and automatic "de-ghosting" tools.
* Solves the problem of multi-generation image degradation.

For a complete list of features, sample images and related links, visit my
web site http://www.panoramafactory.com. Download the Panorama Factory and
let me know what you think of it!
