Re: Inkjet printers - Epson Photo 1200 and Epson 3000

Hi,
Have you actually seen output from both of these printers?
I currently use the Epson Stylus EX (predecessor to the 1200), and
occasionally the 3000. There is no comparison between the two, for output
of photo-quality results on glossy media, the EX is vastly superior. Since the
1200 output is reported to be better than the EX, I would expect the
difference to be even more pronounced.
The pizza wheel problem is caused by a row of sharp toothed metal wheels
that allow the Photo stylus printers to fully eject a printed sheet without
smearing any wet ink. They can produced a series of dotted lines running
down a printed sheet, resembling perforations. This occurs mainly with
glossy media, especially non-epson makes such as Lysonic.
The cure is to remove all but the endmost two wheels, of course, this limits
you to printing only full width media, but then, why are you buying a wide
carriage printer?
Hope this helps,
Keith Davison
