Chaque a son gout! My 135U (purchased new for much less than advertised
prices) is more productive for me than the 150U I formerly owned. I get
more done with 1/2 frame 4x5 than I did with a V-Pan. I get many more
shots I can sell with my XPan than I did with a G617. Does that mean
that nobody should buy a 150U, V-Pan or Fuji? Nope. It only means that
the market supports a variety of cameras.

If you shoot stock, you need a medium format camera. If you have
standardized on 30" and 40" prints, (as I have) produce your own
postcards, or shoot for the Web, medium format may be more than you
need. There is no right or wrong camera for the world, but there is for
you.

Pan cameras are expensive, so it makes sense to get as much experience
with them as you can. If possible, rent before you buy (or attend my
workshop next April and lay hands on some different gear). But each of
us has different needs and working methods. Bob's opinion is grounded in
more years of panoramic experience than mine, but it applies more to him
than to me. I have lots of experience buying and selling pan cameras!

You must make your own choices (and your own mistakes). And good luck!
