dear joel- in the early 80's i was still working for ibm and in this instance i was calling on someone in charge of hiring photographers who was creepy and i'd never met before. he'd warned me that he only gave photographers thirty minutes of his time. before we even faced-to-faced and over the phone i asked "suppose you need extratime with me just to see ibm stuff i've already done...seems unfair to next photog to use his time." anyway, i got an assignment to go to lexington, kentucky where ibm made selectric typewriters. out side his office, and we were saying polite good byes, he asked me what to do about photgraphy he commissioned that contained leaning ibm buildings. i answered that he should hire guys who used view cameras and could really work em, OR insist that every photographer he hired for building work have a $40-50 expense receipt on his bill for an inexpensive stepladder and he'd darn well better use it. he can then take the ladder and put in in his own garage, ibm didn't need it. simon, behind his rock near wendy's in east orange, new jersey.

Simon,

RE: Shift vs ladder.

I do find that from time to time I am standing on top of the car roof
with a tripod.

By the way, thank you for your suggestion about how to resolve my
problems with Horseman.  With a 55MM lens the camera performs
beautifully.
