joel- an art director i usta work for reminded me that i also used plasterers stilts to walk elevated. when the pope came to boston, first visit to usa as i recall, i was standin g on the common (for newsweek) and i didn't have a ladder, nytimes staffer fred conrad was there. i said that i was glad to see that WE had a ladder. fred replied that he had a ladder, not WE. it started to rain. i said that WE HAD AN UMBRELLA . thusly i got  to use the ladder. it was small, three steps, but oh so important. simon

Simon, where do you store those ceiling plaster
supports that allowed you to take photos over people
at a crowded event?
