So why not use the same method here?  If you have the SCSI version of the
PhotoSmart, you will need different scanner software to scan the long slide.
VueScan comes to mind.  Check it out at www.hamrick.com.  The software also
does a better job on the dark areas of slides than the software that ships
with the unit.
