You still need a relatively high strobo-rate (flashes pro second),
combined with a relatively slow drum speed.
But it is not impossible....you just need several flashes for each mm
of film covered by the slit.
This is also how high tech cameras can get away with very fast syncro
speeds (above 1/300s)....they just fire off several flashes during
the exposure....since above normal syncro-speed, the curtain is never
large enough to expose the entire frame at once....it's a moving slit
(first curtain followed by second curtain), just like a swing-lens
pan camera.
