With a 6x12 (and even a 6x9 and 6x7, though not panoramic) roll film back
in a 4x5 is the increased amount of 'movements' available.

It is often possible to use the maximum rise, fall, slide, swing or tilt
with the roll film adapters. On the 4x5 ground glass there is massive
vignetting in the corners, yet no loss in the roll-film format.
