Virtual Tours

Hi Steve - The company that did my home was a Canadian outfit called
Bamboo.Com. They used a Hi-8 video camera attached to a device they call a
'roundabout'. The best I could gather is that is some form of QTVR. He
explained that the camera shoots 30fps and they use about 5fps and create a
still photo from the video capture (a Tif, I believe) from there it is
brought into photoshop and prettied up and then posted to all the web sites
of your choice - all for $ 99. Apparently they have a nationwide network of
service providers aka photographers and have contract with most of the heavy
hitters in the Real Estate world. I don't understand how they can deliver 4
shots for this ridiculously low price.

Hi Bill,

I'm slowing developing the ability to create virtual tours, and would
like to approach realtors in the future about providing this service.
I'm interested in any details you could provide on the virtual tour shot
on your home. Type of camera (digital vs. film), software used to create
the tour, what the service cost you, and any other information would be
of great interest.

I like the idea of providing virtual tours. It's a business that
requires only the proper camera equipment, hardware and software, and
techniques. I believe that once the business relationships are developed
and a proven product delivered, this service could provide a reliable
source of income (probably not a forture, but at least something).

Thank you,
Steve
