Having owned a 220VR, I'd say that it may be overkill for a strictly
interactive project. The RoundShot is heavy and work with it is, shall we
say, deliberate. I would not look forward to shooting thousands of images in
a short period of time with this camera. That said, on a good day (no
banding), the results will far exceed the requirements of any interactive
use.
Why not investigate a system such as the CycloVision ParaShot for direct
digital capture? While I've not used the ParaShot, it seems to have these
advantages for a project like yours:
-~1/5 the cost of a 220VR and lens
-smaller/lighter
-less likely to attract attention of passers by
-no film/processing/scanning costs
Unless your contract for this project includes the requirement that you
spend a bunch of Euros in Switzerland, you may want to consider this
alternative.
