dear julian- great idea and a bargain even if we have to pay the photolab. i've been doing a version of that at a lab in chinatown, nyc. contact me direct for details lest anyone on the list get upset ...printing machines that do 35mm normal  color negs 2.5x are doing it, sometimes on 5" roll stock they have five inch paper therein. i've been making portrait 5x7"s for an intended exhibit..they are 5" x60" and for cheep even with payment. simon nathan says good on ye!

Hi there, for what this may be worth to you and other list members. I know
that we all tend to talk inkjet printers when this question crops up, but
may I suggest another method for those seeking photo output.

I work in an AGFA equiped minilab, using MSC100 with a AGFA/Sienna engined
DPU device attached. Whenever I want to have a look at my panos up to 12
inches long I just drop the file onto a disc and print it. MUCH cheaper
than using up all my precious inks on the Epsom etc. There are many Agfa
systems all over the world using this technology and Fuli labs have a
similar system. Both these are limited to 12 inch long output at this
stage. Anyway just a thought.Cheers
