Hi , thanks for your reply . My belt imploded/exploded too and Karl Heitz 
sent me a replacement( I live in Scotland and I took the Alpa out to NY 3 
years ago to get some major repairs done, severe banding problems) free. I 
did not use it as I did not think it could be stretched round the groove and 
was also concerned about opening the camera up to fit it. Instead a friend 
suggested a piece of suitable rubber sheet he found in his workshop and we 
fitted it with a stanley knife and super glue , a diagonal cut, without 
having to open the camera up. Just turned it as we fitted it. It seems to be 
working fine. How did you fit the band they sent you ? I would also like to 
increase the Focal Length  of the lens of the camera , have you tried this 
/any suggestions ?
