The IAPP seems to me to have a direct relation to making a pizza.

A pizza is constructed of many 'elements'.    

A pizza is not just flour, 
or garlic, 
or cheese, 

or any of a Noah's Ark of single ingredients.

To produce a good pizza no single element overwhelms the others. 

If Anchoives are requested, then a small section can be dedicated to that
desire without over-powering the remainder.

When all the elements are blended carefully in a synergistic and
interactive way then a new, Something for Everyone, Gestalt-like entity
comes into being: 

Ta Daaaaa!
