Hi,
First; your address is a commodity which can be re-sold, and by replying
you indicate that you read all your e-mail.
I'll try to give a quick example. Two years ago a friend sold his house
and bought a new one. At about the same time as they closed on the new
house his wife announced that she was expecting their first baby. All
during the remodeling (which we had to do in 4 months instead of 6) the
phone rang off the hook with sales calls. If the owner answered the phone
he would tell them off in no uncertain terms that he did NOT want a new
roof, baby insurance, storm shutters, etc: This tactic will generate
re-calls. When I answered the phone I said Mr.& Mrs.________ are in
Sweden/Canada/France, whatever, for the next 6 months; that got them off
the calling list, period.
I'm not saying that this particular 'Partner Search' mail is a scam.
It's probably legit and got on the reflector by accident. That happens
when writers don't double-check the send to: or cc: boxes in their
mailers.
Regards, David Quackenbush
