Hi everyone,
I am new to panorama and new to this forum. Please bear with my novice
status.

I just purchased a sony DSC-505V digital still camera and have the wide
angle lens on order.

I need to purchase a tripod and am wondering how nessecary it is for me to
order a VRML kit head for it.

The tripod mount on my camera is located on the lens, apparently just under
the CCD.

It is my understanding that if I have a ball head pivot to balance my pan
head, that I will be able to successfully do 360 degree horizontal panorama
shots, but how can I do this successfully for vertical shots?
