dear georgio- in making 1964 model simon/wide
i used linhof zoom finder from 4x5 camera and scotch tape for the 1:3 ratio.
i cannot think of simpler way. match field of view with processed film,
camera stays on tripoid. if you have ground glass back you can do it presto-pronto.
where did the idea come from? frits rotgans had already done this. me,
monkey see, monkey do. i could scan this for you but dunno how to work
microtek 4 or xerox xk35c scanners ar my elbow.it has, as you know, half
ass tilt passing as parallax correction. did you know gene wright in sfo
from long ago? signed-simon or jazzbeax?

Hello list,
I notice that Linhof Universal Viewfinders crop (no pun intended) up
repeatedly as favorite solutions to viewfinders for homemade and pano
cameras. I am confused about compatibility among various models and
their
masks. Can anyone steer me to a place/site/source/book/publication
that
details the different models and their compatibility with various masks?
Or
is there a simple, short story somebody can forward?
In particular, there seem to be older and newer versions, 2X3 vs. 4X5
versions, etc.
Thanks.
