Hi Dennis;
Most likely it is weak batteries. They may have read as medium strength
after the camera was off for a while. The Noblex needs fresh strong
batteries, especially for the slower speeds . This is because of the length
of time it takes for the drum to rotate. I had the same problem with mine
and now I never leave home without at least one extra set of FRESH
batteries.
