Silvestri claims there are two additional models, 1/500s and Silent.
But I still have yet to see the first true silent model....what I
understand is that only the slow times are more silent, and this
effect can be noticed on some of these 1/500 models.
Note that there are no visible differences other than this 1/500
marking on top of the drum. And, you get the non-listed 1/15s (1 stop
faster speed in the slow range) as a bonus (sometimes the gap between
1/60s and 1/8s is too wide for long brackets with identical
aperture).
Note2: the normal 202 exists in two drum-designs; one where the
blank on the speed scale is on the left side of the 3 other
markings, and one where the blank is on the other side.
Note3: I have seen a 1/500s model *without* any 1/500 mark....obvious
with the blank on the left side. Can only be detected if you open the
camera, and run it at 1/15s (slit closes one fraction smaller than at
1/8s).
Note4: the original 202 in 1990 (called Technorama at that time,
design originating in Finland, from the famous 'whatshisname' pan
photographer (also holds contests) had 8 shutter speeds, a full range
of 1/250s to 1/2s. No 1/500s. See book about Sovjet & Russian cameras
from Princelle (French guy, owns one of the handful titanium
KMZ-anniversary models).
Note 5: if anyone is interested in a brand new & checked 202 for
US$375, mail me privately....;-))
I currently also have 2x 1/500s units in stock, for US$500.
Custom-color filters like #25 red, #87C infrared and polaroid are
also available....samples of infrared shots can be seen on:

(also lots of other 202-related chapters, with tips&tricks for
filmloading and filtermounting)
