I have the Epson 1200U with transparency adapter.  It was purchased mainly for web uses.  For printing (inkjet only) it is OK at best.  Since this scanner is a 36 bit scanner it does better than the 24 bit jobs but not much.  You have to work the images in PhotoShop to make them presentable. I have scanned my Noblex images (6x12) and printed them 40" long with good results but it is stretching the capabilities of the scanner.  The good side is that it only cost $250 including transparency adapter.

Can anybody tell me of their results from scanning panorama negs on a flatbed scanner back projection or what ever. I am looking for a unit that will give a quality result for printing ( not web use ). I have an LS 2000 but find it difficult to get even  result when doing multiple 35 mm scans, when one side of the image has a bright highlight like sand.
