Anyone contemplating using a beamsplitter on a 35mm camera should 
consider finding a Tri-Delta "PRISM STEREO" attachment, which splits
and rotates, so the L and R images come out head-to-head, with 
corresponding image points equidistant from the lens format center,
and the format wider than high.

Problem is in finding a used Prism Stereo splitter, since they are
"out of print".  I don't know what the availability is on them.  I 
have used mine successfully since 1963.
