Wrong. If you hold the camera vertically, then you have to rotate the
splitter to it's perpendicular to the base of the camera. The
resulting images would be even taller and skinnier than regular
splitter images. (If you didn't rotate the splitter, you'd get "top
eye" and "bottom eye" views, which do not constitute stereophotography
in the human sense.)
