Boston was fun!

Yes. As Jon Golden said, we had a great time in Boston... It was nice
visiting Paul Wing at the hospital. We took plenty of 3-d pictures and
managed to convert a couple of nurses to 3-d, which, I understand, will
be joining the New England chapter of stereo photography in the next
meeting.

Jon's house, is a shrine of audiovisual instruments... Shiny stereo
viewers are displayed next to transistor radios and microphones.

After dinner, Jon pulled out his 70" silver screen and his Brackett
projector and we were rolling... First with Lori and Morris' fascinating
3-D tour of Scotland, and then with Jon Golden's 1993 3-d program
"Stereo Metamorphoses".

The "Stereo Metamorphoses" was a first for me... And it was a shock.
Here you have a program with fantastic 3-d images blended into each
other by the expert use of the dissolve feature of the Brackett
Dissolver and accompanied with professional stereo sound...

The package is too good to be true. There is a popular belief that the
best way to show stereo is with a viewer. I used to think like that.
Until yesterday, that is... Now I think that projection, once properly
done, is the way to convert the masses to 3-d. Anyone who sees Jon
Golden's program and does not convert to 3-d instantaneously has no
hope...

I left Jon's house depressed. My dream was to put together a 3-d
program one of these days... Now I realize that I am years away from
doing anything that approaches this kind of quality... In the meanwhile
I will be trying Scalia in my Steinhel-fitted Realist for some wide-
angle B&W stereo photography... or perhaps a Pentax beamsplitter in my
Minolta SLR for high-speed stereo... Could I use two TDC 116's for a
stereo-dissolve projection?
